With A-Rod Out Yankee Fans Are Actually Convinced Eric Chavez Will Be Better Than Him

With Alex Rodriguez going on the DL for 6-8 weeks last night, Yankee fans couldn't actually be happier. After multiple interviews with multiple Yankee fans, it seems as though the consensus is that Eric Chavez is actually the piece that they've been missing at third base the entire season.

"Bro, I'm so happy that A-Rod's hurt because now our third baseman will actually get a hit. I mean A-Rod didn't get a hit all season," said Joey Boom Botz from North Jersey. Boom Botz would continue saying, "I'm thinking this Chavez guy, he plays twice a week and has more hits and more RBI's on the season, now we're definitely winning the World Series."

I mean why would you need a guy with over 600 career home runs who plays an awesome third base and has a couple of MVP awards with your team nonetheless? Well, as Mikey Bagofdonuts from the Bronx explained, A-Rod has never actually gotten a hit with runners in scoring position. "This fucking guy has never gotten a hit with a guy on base ever. All he ever did was hit solo home runs when we were already up 10-1. He's terrible." When I asked about the 2009 playoff run when he actually carried the team into the World Series, all Mr. Bagofdonuts said was, "If Teixeira didn't hit that home run in game one the Yankees lose the series." Right, because A-Rod didn't hit game tying and go ahead home runs in games 1, 2 or 3 of that series.

I guess everyone forgets that it will be different for Eric Chavez to play every day as opposed to his usual twice a week. But one thing we do know, is that the Yankees and their fans will not be missing A-Rod. "He's a bum and he's been an automatic out in our lineup all year. What we should've done was trade him for Josh Hamilton," said Vinny Spikedhair from Staten Island. "And he doesn't even hit in the playoffs," he finished with. When I showed him the Yankees numbers from the last two post seasons and how no one has hit, including Teixeira (who has never hit in the postseason) and Jeter he only responded with, "That's not real, I know A-Rod was 0 for the century and Jeter hit .500." Only in your mind son, only in your mind. Also as it is in the mind of many Yankee fans. Give it a couple of weeks, you'll be missing A-Rod more than you think.
