Can I ask why you would taunt an alligator like this? When you're playing around with your hand in front of it's mouth you're just daring it to bite you. Then when he takes a bite and misses the first time, he's definitely not missing on the second try. If you put your hand into the open mouth of an alligator, you deserve to get bit. Sorry, but you do. It's the same thing if you jump into the lion cage at the zoo, you deserve to get eaten. I have zero sympathy for stupidity. If the alligator isn't bothering you, don't taunt him. Because your hand will be his lunch. And it's not even like you were playing with a baby alligator. This thing is like 13 and a half feet. That's a monstrous creature.
