Do You Think There Is A City Right Now That Hates Their Team More Than Boston Hates The Red Sox?

Can you honestly look around sports right now and see a city that hates their team more than Boston hates the Red Sox? They have fallen from a team who was supposed to be a World Series contender just last season to a team who is basically out of the playoff race at this point. And their city and their fans cannot fucking stand them.

It started last September when they collapsed and the rumors of guys pounding beers and eating fried chicken in the clubhouse emerged. Somebody had to pay the price for the collapse and instead of making the players be the ones paying, they decided that it was manager Terry Francona who had to go. This was part one.

Part two occured when they hired Bobby Valentine. Everybody and I mean everybody in Boston was outraged by this. For some reason they all hated Bobby and the fireworks and problems with the players were out in the open from day one. Then Josh Beckett misses a start and goes golfing the next day. This blows up and now everyone doesn't just hate Bobby V, but they hate the Sox as well.

And it didn't end there. Soon it was the Kevin Youkilis saga. Next thing you know Youkilis who had been a Boston mainstay for years was out the door and sent packing to Chicago and the Red Sox could barely stay above the .500 mark. Carl Crawford decided to throw in the towel last week by getting Tommy John surgery showing that the money was not well spent on him whatsoever. And now this. What happened yesterday is the culmination of why everyone inside and outside of Boston hates the Red Sox.

Johnny Pesky who was basically hitting fungos at Fenway up until the day he died had his funeral yesterday. This isn't some guy nobody knew, this was a guy highly involved with the team and who was always around the players. You know how many players went to his funeral? Four guys. FOUR fucking guys. Are you kidding me? The city hates you enough as it is and now you go and pull this shit? It is unbelievable what is going on in Boston. The days of the hard nosed, balls to the wall baseball players are long gone. Now it's a bunch of spoiled brats who are just there for the money. It's a shame how far they've fallen in such little time. But there's no denying the obvious facts here. Your team isn't that good, and your city hates your guys. You've reached a new all time low.
