If I'm The Jaguars I'm Trading Maurice Jones-Drew

Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew hasn't reported to camp because he wants more money. The Jaguars Owner and GM are refusing to give him more money. Now MJD says that he would be open to a trade if the Jaguars aren't going to pay him.

I'm not gonna lie, if I'm Jacksonville I'm trading him at this point. Number one, you and him both say that you aren't budging. Number two, by the time the organization gets to where it hopes to go he isn't going to be relevant anymore. You have a second year quarterback and you just brought in a potential stud rookie wide receiver. By the time they're both pretty good, MJD is going to be on his down slope. We watch every year how quickly running backs hit their decline, and he's not going to be any different.

He deserves his money because he led the NFL in rushing last season on a terrible team when everyone knew he was the only person getting the ball. But you're going in a different direction and it'll be at least three years by the time the organization might be ready to win. If you trade him and get some good draft picks that you can definitely get for him at this point, the process to becoming a contender might just speed up a little bit. And look at it this way, by the time you're ready to win you'll be the NFL team in Los Angeles. Yeah, I just said that.

Trade him and get everything you can if you're not gonna pay him. He deserves way better than what you're giving him now.
