Will Mike Vick Be A Jet Next Season?

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/eye-on-football/21245375/andy-reid-nick-foles-is-eagles-starter-for-remainder-of-2012

So Andy Reid has finally come out and named Nick Foles the starter for the rest of the season, putting one of the most dynamic players in NFL history on the bench, and more than likely allowing him the freedom to move on from Philly next season.

On that same token, Rex Ryan decided to pull Sanchez yesterday in favor of Not Rory Mcelroy. Mcelroy went on the manage the game in an effective way and "lead" a scoring drive which wound up being the game winning drive in a game that could be described as "defensively minded" to be kind.

So, my prediction is Rex will come out and say that Mcelroy is starting this week, but won't commit to him. Then, the Jets will literally destroy the Jaguars and Mcelroy will be named the starter in the following week. Now, I hope to god this guy is the next 6th round phenom (Tom Brady), but most of the evidence suggests that won't be the case. Regardless, once he's named the starter (which he will be), the Sanchez era is officially over.

Now, the question in the offseason becomes do you stick with Mcelroy even if it's obvious that he'll be just another game manager, or do you go out and sign (overpay) for a high risk player like Mike Vick. I say go for it. Mcelroy will more than likely not become Tom Brady and he will almost definitely keep the team mediocre. Vick has the skillset to be an IMPACT player on any team and turn them into a competitor. I'm not saying his performance this year or at the end of last year reflects that statement or has any validity; but anybody who has watched this dude play, knows that he CAN be "the guy."

He's the perfect fit for the Jets and Woody Johnson. Just an enormous headline. I can almost guarantee he's part of Gang Green next season, you heard it here first.
