Thirty teams entered, twenty-five made the playoffs and now only four remain. Your 8th seeded, "Meatpacking District" is one of those four.
The real life Cinderella story that is myself (@jimboslicee) and Matt Masseo (the ol' third basemen on Steve and I's traveling teams) will be playing for glory tonight.
The ride is very much like the New York Football Giants we know. Highly enigmatic throughout the season; sweep a good team, get swept by a shit team. That left us with a 21-14 regular season record and an 8th seed in the 25 team playoff.
The light switch went off. We swept the 9th seed and for reason had a second round bye, but while we waited for our third round opponent, we didn't let rust set in. We drew the 1st seed, 30-2 on the season, and we took them out behind the wood shed, just like the Giants did the Packers.
Now we head into tonight to take on the 4th seed, with our hated rivals the 2nd seeded Jen2, (I know what a gay name right?) hopefully waiting for us in the finals.
Bottom line is tonight, history will be made, not that we will be the lowest seed to ever win in the bar's three year existence, not that we will drag our sacks on Jen2 again, but that we will just reignite the precedent that you don't really need to try, until you actually HAVE to try.
You can turn the light switch on whenever you want. Don't want to do your homework tonight kids? Don't do it, do it when your in the hallway ten minutes before class. Don't want to work hard at work today? Dont, cut out early and go to happy hour and pull an all nighter to get the big presentation ready.
Nike has "Just Do It", Adidas has "Impossible is Nothing", The Meatpacking District has "Do It When You Want, it's Possible"
