Bold Baseball Predictions (National League)

While I was thinking of the NL edition of, "Bold Baseball Predictions". I realized there isn't too much going on here as opposed to the American League.

If there was no second Wild Card, all the races would be decided.

So we're going to keep this one short and sweet. Idiot proof

The NL East is obviously the Nationals, the NL Central is obviously the Reds, the West is the Giants and the first Wild Card is the Braves.

The only suspenseful race is the second Wild Card and even that isn't one because...

2nd NL Wild Card -

The Cardinals currently lead the 2nd Wild Card over the Dodgers and Brewers, and that's how it will stay. Their offense is very multi-dimensional they hit for average, hit for power and can play small ball. The defending champs will be a tough out in the playoffs.

National League Awards -

NL Cy Young - Gio Gonzalez (Washington Nationals)

You can argue R.A Dickey all you want, but the fact is he hasn't been the same. He's going to probably lose his last couple decisions because that team is so bad. Gio Gonzalez is my pick here, because he's going to win 20 games. If you win 20 games for the best team in the NL then I think you're the winner.

NL Rookie of the Year - Bryce Harper (Nationals)

About a month ago Bryce was kind of overrated and Todd Frazier of the Reds was looking like the Rookie of the Year.

Well that was a month ago.

Bryce is on fire and having a fantastic rookie season. Oh yeah did I mention he's 19 and doing this? Kid seems like he's been in the majors for 10 years, because 19 year old's don't hit .260 with 20 home runs and 50 RBIs in the Major Leagues.

NL MVP - Ryan Braun (Milwaukee Brewers)

Daddy talked about it this morning. He won it last year, he lost his protection in the lineup (Prince Fielder) but some how he's having a (way) better year than last year. He's hitting .320 with 40 homers and 105 RBIs.

As decided as these NL races are some how there is no real big time MVP candidate. So even if the Brewers don't make the playoffs, Ryan Braun is really running opposed.
