NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is apparently talking about playoff expansion in the coming years to 14 or possibly 16 teams. I only have one thing to say about that idea. DON'T DO IT! No way, is this a good idea. The NFL playoffs are the greatest thing in sports. It's one game do or die, and only 12 of 32 teams make it. Only the top teams make it in. Sure, sometimes there's that 6 seed who' questionable about whether they should be there or not, but usually that's a team that gets hot at the right time and makes a little playoff run.
Look at it right now, if it was a 16 team playoff we would be subjected to watching Mark Sanchez and the awful Jets in a first round playoff game. Does anyone actually want to watch that? Hell no. Plus look at the possible match ups we can have in the first round. If Baltimore can somehow beat Denver this weekend and the standings stay the same after the weekend we could be seeing Baltimore hosting Pittsburgh and Andrew Luck taking the Colts to Denver to take on Peyton Manning, the guy he replaced. If you go to 7 or 8 teams, you miss out on all of that. Leave the playoffs the way they are. They're the greatest postseason in sports. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
