This weekend was my alumni weekend at the good old Sacred Heart University so we did what real bros do and went to visit our protege's at their house just to make sure we passed down a good legacy. We did and they may just leave behind a better legacy than we did. But that's neither here or there.
I'm sitting there just hanging out and then I look into the living and I see my old desk. The desk that I never did an ounce of work on actually. It's sitting in the corner of an empty room and I'm just thinking, "Wait, that's my old desk." So I just had to ask and they told me it was. And then I said, "What the fuck is it doing over there?"
My buddy looks at me and says, "It's the table DJ Wheels uses to set up his equipment on when we throw bangers." I stopped for a minute and a tear almost came to my eye. My desk wasn't being used to do schoolwork on, it was being used for the resident DJ to make sweet mixes on while people party and bang all over the house. And then I realized that I could live with that. If that's the piece I leave behind for these dudes to party with, I can sleep at night. I can write blogs without a thought of regretting the things I left behind in college.
