I think it's about time we raise this question. Are the best days of Tom Brady behind us? Have we seen the best of him? Are the days of Brady running roughshod through the AFC in the postseason completely over? Well let's look at the evidence. Since that loss to the Giants in the '07 Super Bowl, he just hasn't been that good in the postseason.
I know he has three rings, and I know he's been to five super bowls, but what have you done for me lately? He played an awful game last night. Missing throws, throwing behind guys, making a terrible decision with clock management at the end of the first half it was just all around a terrible game by the guy we almost considered invincible.
Even last season he played a terrible AFC Championship game and then didn't have a great Super Bowl either. In his last two Super Bowl and AFC Championship game appearances he hasn't been Tom Terrific, he's been more like Average Joe. Is this the end of the road for Brady's days as an elite playoff QB?
If we're going to hold everyone else to the "what do you do in the playoffs" standards then it's about time we start holding Brady to that same standard. He will still go down as one of the best quarterbacks and best playoff quarterbacks to ever play the game but it's easy to see that his best days are clearly behind him. We have seen the best of Tom Brady. The proof is in the pudding.
