Last night the NCAA finally approved a college football playoff just like everyone's been asking for years now. So what's my problem? My problem is that this system is absolute bullshit. Four teams? That's the playoffs? Four fucking teams? Are we kidding with that? Do you really think that this is gonna solve all the problems? I don't wanna hear all this bullshit about how there's realistically only four teams who can win it each year and that there's not enough time and all this nonsense. There is a perfect amount of time for Division 1AA to have a full out playoff, why can't Division 1A do it? What's the matter? If you expand to eight there's a chance that a powerhouse might get beat by a school like Boise State or TCU? Is that the problem? All you're doing is adding one more game. That's ridiculous. You give these kids off a little over a month for their bowl games and in that time you can actually have a full out four team playoff. "Oh but they can't go home for the holidays." What's your point? I played college baseball, it's in the spring, I couldn't go home for spring break, Easter or any other holiday, but that was perfectly fine. These kids can't go home for the holidays, so what? They're getting paid to go to school and play football, that's what their scholarship says. It should be a minimum of eight teams although I would love to see a sixteen team playoff one day. Nothing over sixteen. Because realistically, anything can happen in the top sixteen and that would be a hell of a lot of fun to see. I hope one day this bullshit system gets ended and we can see a real playoff system. Until that day comes, this is complete bullshit and we might as well just keep the BCS with a computer picking the championship game.
