Celtics Beat Knicks 92-86 to Force Game 6 Back in Boston

Things just got a little more interesting folks. Do I think the Knicks will still win the series? Yes. But the fact that they have just lost two in a row to Boston and tonight at home, this series just got a little bit more interesting. The Knicks are the better team. However, Boston is contesting the three point shot, Melo and the rest of the bunch are settling for long jumpers and the Celtics are dictating the pace of the game. Tonight the Knicks just could not get out in transition the entire night and they could not hit the three point shot.

But look at the difference in scoring tonight. The Celtics had five guys score 16 or more points. Do you know how difficult that makes you to defend when the ball is distributed like that? Melo and JR Smith couldn't even find the basket tonight and Melo had a terrible game and still scored 22 but he didn't impact any other area of the game. The Knicks also blew a golden opportunity for some rest as the Hawks and Pacers are going at least 6 and it might go the distance. Now the Knicks have to close out Boston in Boston. I think they underestimated what it takes to knock out Garnett and Pierce, those guys don't just lay down.

The Knicks are still in the driver's seat and I think they'll still handle their business. But if Boston manages to pull out game 6, the pressure will lay squarely on Melo and the Knicks. We'll see what happens on Friday but right now this series just got interesting.
