Bold Predictions For the Rest of the NBA Season

With the NBA season winding down and the NCAA tournament in full swing tomorrow, I have nothing to talk about today since I couldn't give any less of a fuck about the President's Final Four picks. That means that I have to come up with other ideas of stuff to write about. I have watched way more NBA this year than I have ever before and I will now make bold predictions for the rest of the NBA season.

1) The Nets will win the Atlantic Division: Sorry Knicks fans but the Knicks are looking more and more like what I said they would look like before the season started; old, slow and mediocre. I know Melo, Chandler and Amare are hurt but let's look at the facts, without even one of those three the Knicks are a pretty average team. Also, the Nets have a favorable schedule the rest of the way with only 6 of their last 15 against teams with winning records while the Knicks have to play Boston twice, Atlanta twice, Miami, Memphis, Oklahoma City, Chicago and Indiana.

2) The Clippers will not make it out of the first round of the playoffs: I'll be totally honest, I don't think the Clippers are as good as they were at the beginning of the year. Whatever they had during that 17 game winning streak is long gone. They're still a good team but they'e not built for the postseason.

3) The Spurs will not make it to the NBA Finals: Best record in the west, probably going to be the number one seed, but they will not play in the Finals. For as good and as well coached as they are as a group they lose to some very bad teams. You can't get blown out by thirty points to Portland and twenty four to Minnesota and win the Western Conference. Or at least that's what I think.

4) The Knicks will be a first round playoff exit: Once again Knicks fans, you're going to be mad at me but the Knicks will not win a first round playoff series once again. Best case scenario for them is finishing fourth and playing the Hawks. But since they're not catching Miami and getting Milwaukee in the first round, I think every team in the East is built to beat the Knicks in a short series. Right now, you can't debate that.

5) If Derek Rose comes back, the Bulls will play in the Eastern Conference Finals: IF he comes back the Bulls will be a force to be reckoned with come playoff time. They're a good team without him, but they're a great team with him. This is all pending on Rose of course as he's been cleared to play but he says he's mentally not ready. It's wait and see but if he comes back, look out.
