NFL Predictions

I know my name's Johnny Baseball, but today is possibly the most glorious day of the year, the start of the NFL season, and what a better way to start it than with my Green Bay Packers under the lights and Lambeau? It brings a tear to my eye.

With that said, Johnny Baseball and Steve The Hammer MUST do one thing...Predict the NFL season. So here it goes. First we will predict each divison winner, then the wild card winners. We go a little bit further and then predict the conference champions leading up to the SuperBowl and the winner of that.

NFC Predictions by Steve the Hammer

North: Packers
The Packers really are the best team in this division. The scariest part about the defending Super Bowl champs is that they're healthy. That offense is going to be ridiculous with Jermichael Finley and Ryan Grant back this season. And obviously, Aaron Rodgers is Aaron Rodgers, he's just that good. This is clearly the team to beat in the North, and maybe the NFC.

South: Saints
I can't go against Drew Brees and the Saints this year. The offense is going to be much more balanced with the three headed monster in the backfield, and if the hot dog vendor came out of the stands and ran a route, Brees would hit him in the numbers. They throw the ball to everyone. Plus the Bucs are playing a much tougher schedule this year and I'm totally not sold on them.

East: Eagles
They have way too much talent to not with the division. If they don't win the division, Andy Reid should get fired. I hate the guy, but he's a great coach. He won't let this team get over confident. The offense has way too much speed and the defense has three DB's who can lock up anyone. This team is going to have a sick year as much as it pains me to say it.

West: Cardinals
Everyone and their mother are taking the Rams to win this division, but I like the Cardinals. Why? First of all, the one big game that Sam Bradford had to win last year, against a shitty, yes a shitty Seattle Seahawks team, he shit the bed. Yeah, he had a great rookie year, win a big game bro. Also, people forget that Kevin Kolb is gonna be the guy throwing to Larry Fitzgerald this year. The Cardinals will put up enough points to win the west. Write it down.

Wild Cards:

Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta is a team on the rise. Matt Ryan is only going to get better and better and I am a huge fan of drafting Julio Jones to play on the other side of Roddy White. And of course, they still have Tony Gonzalez at tight end. This team is going to put up some points this year. Another guy people forget about, Jacquizz Rogers, the rookie running back. He is going to be able to spell Michael Turner this year and keep him healthy. This team gets a wild card, and will scare some people in the playoffs.

Detroit Lions
If Matthew Stafford stays healthy, this offense is going to be absurd. If he can stay on the field he will have a monster year. And that defensive line is just ridiculous. Ndamukong Suh is on a whole different level than everyone else in the league and Nick Fairley hasn't even played yet. You saw a little preview of what this team can do in the pre season game against New England. Watch out for the Lions this year.

AFC Predictions

North: Steelers
Honestly, Joe Flacco can't beat them and the Browns and Bengals might be battling for the first pick in the draft in 2012, they're that bad. I know the Steelers are coming off the whole Super Bowl runner up and the Super Bowl runner up normally doesn't fair well, but this team is different. Tomlin is an awesome coach, Big Ben just knows how to win, and that defense is still awesome. Steelers win this division, no questions asked.

South: Texans
It is the year of the Houston Texans! Why? Because someone has to win the division. Peyton Manning is out for now, so you don't know what that Colts team is going to look like without him and Jacksonville and Tennessee are going to be all sorts of awful. Houston has a video game type of offense and the defense has a new coordinator. I think this is the year they get to the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.

East: Jets
This is strictly a pick hoping that I curse this team, they have an awful year, and Rex Ryan gets fired. Now, yes they have Plax and Santonio and their defense is their defense. If Sanchez plays decent this year, they probably do win the division. If he gives you what he normally gives you in the regular season, they're probably a wild card.

West: Chargers
San Diego will win the West this year. They're better than every team in that division and watch out for the Chiefs to have a huge let down this year after winning the division last year. I think San Diego's offense is too explosive and their defense will be much better. Chargers win the west.

Wild Cards:

New England Patriots
The defensive line has reloaded, Tom Brady has a new toy with Ochocinco, and Bill Bellicheck is still a great coach. This adds up to a playoff team, and a scary one at that.

Baltimore Ravens
To be totally honest I think the Ravens get a wild card spot because the rest of the AFC is pretty crappy. Their defense is still great, but getting older, and Flacco needs to prove he can win a big game. They get a wild card, but really by default.

NFC Championship Game:

Packers vs Eagles
An awesome battle for the NFC championship, but I think the Packers take it because they can do to the Eagles what a lot of teams can't. That is spread it out, and beat you with their 4th and 5th options. Packers back in the Super Bowl.

AFC Championship Game:

Jets vs Patriots
Although I hate the Jets with a passion, they'll probably get back to the AFC title game this year. But Tom Brady and Bill Bellicheck will not stand for losing to the Jets in the playoffs two years in a row. They go into the Meadowlands and take the AFC title game causing Rex Ryan to predict the Jets win the Super Bowl again in the 2012 season.

Super Bowl:

Packers vs Patriots
If there's anyone who can put together a scheme to stop Mr. Rodgers, it's definitely Bellicheck. Brady gets another ring, and Ochocinco gets his first. Pats take it 24-16.

NFL Predictions brought to you by Johnny Baseball

NFC

East - The Philadelphia Eagles- Hate to say it but they are pretty damn good. They have so many weapons it is ridiculous. The Giants, Redskins, and Cowgirls just won't be able to keep up. The division will go to the Eagles

West - It pains me to even talk about this division. But hey they are getting better. I think the Seahawks will be awful. Just throwing that out there. So my division winner will be the St. Louis Rams. Bradford is solid at QB and they have a good group of receivers and a good run game, makes for a good year.

North - The Green Bay Packers- All of this talk about the Lions is getting me sick, don't worry they will have 7 wins. The Packers won the Super Bowl last year and are getting no attention or no recognition, and guess what? They basically have their whole team back plus the players that were on IR last year. Can't see how they don't win this division.

South - The New Orleans Saints- High power offense, good running game, defense needs to step up a bit but they will take the division.

Wild Card - You can go with a lot of teams here but I'm going to go with the Atlanta Falcons. Watch out for the 49ers, Bucs, Bears, and Cowboys.

AFC

East -The New England Patriots- They are just too good and adding some weapons on offense and defense should give them the division. Plus they still have Tom Brady, he's pretty good.

West -The Kansas City Chiefs- Love this team this year, they are good at every aspect of the game. They have a lot of weapons and a good defense and running game. Again, makes for a good season.

North - This is the toughest one. But I'm going to go with the Baltimore Ravens. Their defense is still their defense and they have upgraded their offense. I think the Steelers fall off a little bit but not too much.

South - Going to have to go with the Texans here. No Peyton means no wins. Other than the Colts the Texans are the best team in the division and I think are finally ready to take the next step.

Wild Card - So many teams here too choose from but I'm going with the San Diego Chargers. Look out for the Jets, Jaguars (yeah I said that), Steelers, and Dolphins to be close.

The NFC Championship Game

A rematch of tonight - Saints vs. Packers, the Pack are gonna take it and go back to the Super Bowl.

The AFC Championship Game

Chiefs vs. Patriots - Pats are gonna take it and go back to the Super Bowl

The Super Bowl

Packers vs. Patriots - Aaron Rodgers will solidify his legacy and do what Tom Brady did. Win back to back Super Bowls, and he will probably be the MVP. Packers win 28-24
