How Many Injuries Will Steve The Hammer's Fantasy Team Rack Up This Season?

Steve the Hammer expects to be seeing a lot of this from his fantasy football team this season

For those of you who don't know, I Steve the Hammer, have the absolute worst luck in the history of fantasy football. I have an all pro lineup of careers I have ended since I have began playing this dumb game that sucks me back in every year thinking I have a chance at winning some money. My first victim of this season is Lance Moore, the wide receiver from the Saints. He just signed a 5 year $21.5 million deal and he is out with a groin injury. Odds are that he will never be the same again, and he can thank me for it. So now I will give you the list of careers I have ruined throughout my days of fantasy football.

Derek Anderson QB: You remember that awesome year he had with the Browns like four or five years ago? Everyone was wondering where the hell this guy came from. The next season for fantasy football I drafted him in the 6th round and he was never the same. He actually lost his starting job to Brady Quinn by week 5. Not an injury, but chalk this one up as a ruined career.

Edgerrin James RB: In 2008 with the Arizona Cardinals he still managed to play in 13 games being under the kiss of death that is my team. Did you know that in 2007 he ran for 1,222 yards? Yeah, I knew that too. In 2008 under my curse he ran for a grand total of 514 yards in 133 attempts. The next season he played 7 games with the Seahawks and hasn't been seen since.

Willie Parker RB: Willie Parker was coming off three consecutive seasons of over 1,200 yards from 05-07. He wasn't even in the league that long he was still in his prime. I drafted him in 2008 and he plays in only 11 games averaging only 3.8 yards per carry until he got hurt. He would only play one more year in the NFL and now no one knows his whereabouts.

Donald Brown RB: A Colts running back who I heard nothing but good things about ever since he got drafted. He was supposed to take Joseph Addai's starting job every year since he came into the league and all he did for me was get hurt both times I had him.

Derrick Ward RB: He signs a big contract with Houston, and he's off the Giants so I figured I would draft the guy. He did nothing but suck and have Arian Foster take his spot. I'm batting .1000 with running backs as you can see.

Marvin Harrison WR: This might be my favorite ruined career of all time. 2007 was the year I ended Marvin Harrison's career. The guy had played in 15 or 16 games with a minimum of 1,100 yards for 8 years in a row. I draft him, he plays in only 5 games, gets hurt and then gets accused of shooting someone. He comes back next year as the teams number 4 receiver and then no one ever sees him again. A guy who was on pace to be in the hall of fame, ruined by me.

Anthony Gonzalez WR: He was supposed to be such a great receiver for Peyton Manning and the Colts in 2008 as a rookie. I draft him, he gets hurt and he's been on and off IR ever since. He will never be the same.

Jermichael Finley TE: After his end to the 2009 season, everyone said he would be the next Antonio Gates in 2010. I drafted him as my tight end and couldn't be happier. He was having an awesome year to start 2010, but when something seems too good to be true, it always is. Mr. Finley blew out his ACL in game 5 and his season was over. I was searching the waiver wire for a tight end for the entire rest of the 2010 season.

There you have my main list of careers and season's I have ruined. This year be on the look out for Ben Roethlisberger to probably get run over by a train since I have him in both my leagues. Oh, and Ray Rice will probably be done by week 3. It's just the curse of the Hammer, it's a terrible thing.

  1. If I knew this earlier I would have told you to draft Michael Vick and Tony Romo.

  2. Trust me, I thought about it. But my luck is so bad that plan would probably completely backfire and they would only have career games against the giants.
