College Seniors: 10 Priorities For Your Senior Year

For the next four days I will compile a list for every year of college (Senior down to Freshman) to give you your top 10 priorities for whatever year you are in. I am going to start with the seniors because they're the most important and have no idea that once they graduate, the dream really is over.

10. Throw at least one awesome house party: The only way to throw a party in college anymore is to go all out. Forget about the cops showing up, forget about the neighbors, and forget about people who you don't know showing up at your house. You need to host at least one rager before your career ends. I'm talking like eight kegs, a few tubs of jungle juice, loud music and people getting blasted all over the place. If you have done this already, then you're ahead of the game. If you have not, you better get on it.

9. Always have protection: Yes, you know where I'm going with this. It's your final year of college, the last  thing you need is a text telling you that your kid is on the way and she's keeping it. You also don't need any infectious diseases coming your way. If they're curable, you're alright; but if they're of the permanent variety then you're going to have a miserable year. Both guys and girls, should be carrying protection on them at all times. You never know when you're gonna find someone who wants to get it in with you before they graduate.

8. Do enough school work to get by: This won't apply to you if you're an overachiever. But it's your senior year, going to that early morning class hungover is completely acceptable. Do enough work where your professor will say, "I like them, and they're a senior. I'll give them a good grade." Trust me it happens more than you think. I haven't met one person to ask me what my GPA was in college, they just want to know if you graduated or not. Remember, B's get degrees. Even C's get degrees.

7. Get rid of the grudges: If it's your ex girlfriend or boyfriend, or just someone you don't like, get rid of the grudge. It's your last year of college and you will be seeing everyone out on a consistent basis. Wherever people assume the hot spot is, that's where all the seniors will go. Squash the beef early in the semester, that way you can take shots with them later on. I'm not saying be best friends with the person, but at least clear the air. Your year will be thousands of times better.

6. Always check to see what everyone is doing: I'm sure there's going to be plenty of options for you when you decide to party. Check with everyone what they're doing and go where you think the best spot will be. You have to go where you know you'll have the most fun. And if someone tells you they're not going out, the simple line of, "It's senior year. You won't be able to do this at this time next year," will always get a person to come out. I had a 100% success rate with that one.

5. If you're thinking about making a move on someone, do it: Who gives a shit if you get turned down? You're never going to see this person once you graduate. I don't regret anything I did in college, just the things (or in this case women) I didn't do. You don't want to leave thinking about things you left out in the open. Just do it, maybe you'll get lucky.

4. Always have at least one day a week where you just hang with your roommates and close friends: As gay as it sounds, you're going to miss every minute of college, especially your last year. Have that one day where you and your roommates and close friends just chill and hang out all day. Whether you watch a show on Sunday night, or go crazy watching sports together; you need that day to just slow everything down and realize that it's not gonna last forever. Oh, and being sober for this is totally optional.

3. Embrace some new friends: You're always gonna meet new people even in your senior year. Some people you meet in your last year will make you say, "Shit, I wish I new that person longer." You don't have time to say that, just get hammered with them whenever possible. Which brings me to number 2 on our list.

2. NEVER pass up an opportunity to party: Once you graduate, drinking just because it's a Tuesday doesn't exist anymore. Well it does, but that's how you end up in meetings. Anyway, any chance you and your friends get to party, you better take it. You're not getting any of those days back. If it's a Monday night, and people are going out, then you go out. It doesn't matter when it is, if people are doing something, you go. Don't pass anything up. Just live it up.

1. Make sure you do Senior Week: Yes, make sure you do your Senior Week any way possible. If you're moving back into the dorms, it's absurdity at its finest. People didn't even sleep there, they just used it to party until 6am and then went back to their houses to sleep. It's that wild, every minute of it. Your money will be well spent during this week. It is the only way to end your career and you'll love every second. I can promise you that, and that's coming from a guy who doesn't make promises.

There is your senior year priority list, print it out, keep nearby, and do what you have to do. I wouldn't steer you wrong, just make sure these things get done.
