Why Mike Trout Shouldn't Be That Upset About His Contract

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout is apparently upset over his $20,000 pay raise he received from the team this week. His agent is furious (naturally because he receives a percentage of whatever Trout makes) and Trout has kept quiet just simply saying, "My time will come." But should be really be that upset over it?

Okay, so besides hitting .336 with 30 dingers and leading the league in runs and stolen bases he won the rookie of the year and finished second in the AL MVP voting. However, he is only in his second year in the league and showed up at camp 15 pounds heavier than he was last season. If I'm the Angels I'm not basing giving a guy millions of dollars off of one season. Do it again, and then we'll talk. Not to mention that even if the Angels don't work something out with him, if he keeps up his numbers he is going to absolutely clean house in arbitration after the 2014 season. Long story short, he shouldn't be all that mad about the contract. His time is going to come where he will most likely be the highest paid outfielder in the history of baseball as well as being the face of the MLB for years to come. If I'm him, I'm more pissed about moving to left field considering he's the fastest man on the planet. That's what I would be worried about, not my contract. Especially because he probably makes cake off endorsement deals that we don't know about.
