Why Hockey Players Should Make the Most Money in Pro Sports...

Has anyone ever sat down and actually watched an NHL game? Have you ever seen guys kicking the shit out of each other, taking pucks off the face and just basically sacrificing their body all over the ice? Have you ever even paid attention to any of this. Oh, and they don't do it once a week, they do it about three or four times a week and sometimes on back to back nights. Hockey players make the least amount of money out of the four major sports in America. Baseball, Football and Basketball all make way more money and none of those sports could do what hockey players do. Do you think LeBron James wants to lay down in front of a frozen piece of rubber traveling at 100mph? Do you think Albert Pujols wants to body up with dudes just as big as him every night along the boards? And do you think Tom Brady wants to get into a fight, come back and finish the game and then play again the next night? No, yet all those guys make more in the first month of their season than all hockey players make in their whole year. Hockey players really do it for the love of the game. They grind it out, and they constantly play hard. Sure NFL guys hit, but they have a week to recover. If you get your ass kicked in hockey, you're back out there the next night with teeth missing. It's just the way it is. Professional sports are ass backwards when guys who are getting the piss beat out of them are making the least amount of money. I'm the biggest baseball fan there is, but I don't think there is any way a guy like Zack Greinke should be making more than a guy like Dan Girardi. If you disagree you should sit down and watch a hockey game, then come talk to me. Sure hitting a baseball IS the hardest thing to do in professional sports, but even that's easier than taking a puck off the face, getting stitched up and coming back onto the ice. Think about it.
