Jets Week 4 Reactions

Zero positives to discuss in this game. Really nothing to say about it that hasn't already been said. I had absolutely zero belief that we had a prayer in hell to win this one going into the game, but I didn't think it was going to be as embarassing as it was. I mean when you have a very mediocre receiving core to begin with, and 2 out of your 3 decent wide-outs aren't playing, a running game that averages 2 yards per carry, an offensive line that gets blown up more than a temple in Afghanistan, and a QB who just plain and simple has never played that well, you are going to get your ass kicked when you play against a team as good as the 49'ers...and that's exactly what happened. The Jets got shit on. They got their dicks kicked in.

Some brief points on the game. First and foremost, maybe I'm an asshole, maybe I'm insensitive, but I just don't understand how Santanio Holmes felt the need to just get rid of the ball. Granted he hurt himself, but he hurt his foot? Right? I mean, not to toot my own horn, but last night I had a baseball game and I fell on my right wrist and still got up and threw the ball to my cut off man. After I did that I fell to the floor and whined like a little bitch, but I did my job before calling attention to myself, I didn't give up a run. I didn't take the ball and throw it over the fence. I finished the play and then worried about my injury. That's Santanio Holmes in a nutshell, and anyone who says I'm wrong hasn't really watched this guy play throughout his career. He's all about himself. Even the comments this week about how Pass Interferences ruin his stats...just classic Santanio Holmes, an overpaid cancer. I really couldn't give a shit if he's done for the season. It might be a blessing in disguise.

David Akers is a piece of garbage for giving me the slightest glimmer of hope yesterday. After he missed his second kick I was becoming optimistic. I thought there was actually a possibility that the Jets could crawl themselves back in to the game. But then of course the Jets march down field, Sanchez fumbles, 9'ers recover, they hit a field goal and go into the half up 10-0 instead of 7-3. I honestly think that makes a big difference in the second half, even though its only a 6 point swing.

Defense got flat out embarassed. 245 rushing yards? Are you kidding me? Missed tackles galore. It was just an awful game to watch, and it ain't going to get better next week with the Texans.

But, that being said, the team is still 2-2. They will be 4-4 going into the bye week and they have a relatively easy schedule. I don't think they will make the playoffs, but I've seen weirder shit happen.
