College Football Opening Weekend Review

As usual we had a very interesting opening weekend in college football. It started Thursday night with South Carolina and Vanderbilt. Vandy showed they're not the doormat that they used to be in the SEC. They have some dudes and they're here to play. South Carolina on the other hand showed that although they probably have the best running back in the country (Marcus Lattimore), their quarterback remains a question mark. An above average quarterback is what separates South Carolina from the rest of the SEC every year and this year seems no different.

In the marquee match up of the first weekend number 2 Alabama absolutely derailed number 8 Michigan. Hey Money Mayweather how'd that one feel? Probably like your first two nights in jail. Just straight getting butt fucked after you bet $3 million on Michigan to cover the 14 point spread. Alabama clearly showed that they're still the best team in the country and Michigan showed that the Big Ten remains completely inferior to the SEC. The final was 41-14.

And then last night in the final game of the weekend and the final Monday night game that won't be the NFL, we had number 16 Virginia Tech barely squeaking out and overtime victory against unranked Georgia Tech 20-17. Va Tech QB Logan Thomas just looks like he should be so much better than he is. He's like 6'6 240 with a fucking cannon. You gotta complete more than 50% of your passes and you gotta get into the end zone on a qb sneak from the one yard line. If he just plays mediocre, then Virginia Tech will most likely win their division and play in another ACC Championship game. If he doesn't, then say hello to Georgia Tech since they're the only other non embarrassment in that division.

As it always does, the games next weekend will be awesome. I love college football, I can't get enough of it. Summer is now officially over and fall is in the air. Oh, and that means don't make plans for Friday night. Daddy is back behind the bar at Traffic in NYC on 52nd and 2nd. Come in and mention Talk of the Town to me personally and I don't know what you'll get yet but you'll obviously get something. See you then...Hopefully.
