The Honeymoon Phase

It happens with roommates, it happens with friendships and it happens with relationships. It's the honeymoon phase of the relationship. It's early on when everything is all hunky dory and everything and everyone seems like they're absolutely perfect. But then something terrible happens. You actually get to know each other.

Let's start with the relationship honeymoon phase. You two really like each other from the start, you two are just so cute together all the time going out, hanging out and having a grand old time. It's so nice to watch isn't it? Oh wait, then the guy looks at some chick who just walked by and his girl goes ape shit saying something like, "What am I not good enough that you're checking out other girls in front of me?" It's actually not that at all. It's just that when that really hot chick walked by him he realized holy shit I want that sitting on my face. She goes nuts, you two fight and then next thing you know you two hate each other.

And now we go to the roommate honeymoon phase. "Oh my god it's our first night together let's go out and get drunk off sangria!" That's usually something new female roommates say to each other. Next thing you know, a bra, a sock or even a dildo go missing and it's world war three. You two hate each other, start fights over when the rent is due and then you're moving out within three months. I've seen it many times, it happens.

Is the honeymoon phase actually real? Yes, if I'm talking about it it's probably real. Because I am in fact the real deal. Anyway, be on the lookout in your relationship of any kind when it's just in the honeymoon phase. If you can actually stand each other past the honeymoon phase, it's destined to work out. If not, then sorry about it. But use your head wisely.
