Who do we have for our heisman trophy candidates this year? Well, we have RG III from Baylor with his blistering numbers, Andrew Luck who's everybody's favorite QB, Tyrann Mathieu aka the Honey Badger, Trent Richardson who is just an absolute beast and beats up on SEC opponents for the most part, and finally little Montee Ball from Wisconsin.
I know Griffin has thrown for 4,000 yards this year, and I know Mathieu is the best player in college football. I also know that Andrew Luck will be the number one pick in the NFL draft and I know Trent Richardson plays in the SEC. But nobody wants to talk about this Montee Ball guy from Wisconsin. I haven't heard his name once. He's not even considered in the top three.
Let's look at the facts here. Montee Ball has rushed for over 1,700 yards this season and has 32 rushing touchdowns to go along with 6 receiving touchdowns. Now think about this. He has 38 total touchdowns in 13 games. In 6 out of his 13 games, he hasn't gotten a touch in the fourth quarter. NOT ONE TOUCH! And he still has 38 touchdowns. Do you realize how ridiculous of a stat that is? That's six quarters of football. That's a full game and a half of another one. Are you kidding me?
Montee Ball probably won't win the Heisman just because he's not the sexy pick, or the popular guy. But he should win it based on the fact that his numbers would be even more had he gotten the ball in the fourth quarter of those games. It's great that he's in New York as a finalist, but he should be the winner. Plus Wisconsin has the hottest girls out of any school on that list. That's good enough for me to give him my vote.
